Sophie's Revolution takes place during the Russian Revolution. Sophie is a close friend of Anastasia Romanov. She is a first-hand witness to the growing unrest in Russia during the early 1900s. As the threat of war draws nearer, Sophie's uncle makes a big decision that will change her life.
The Mystery of the Ancient Hieroglyphs
It is the year 1827. Champollion, the first man to decipher the hieroglyphics, has invited Hugo and Sophie to Egypt where he will test his theory. Before they set off, Sophie is threatened by the church, and much to her dismay, she must deceive Champollion.
Meanwhile, back in Egypt there is a boy, Ahmed. He helps his father's boating business which has been taken over by the French. Ahmed does not like the French coming into his country and taking his country's artifacts. Sophie and Ahmed's worlds collide as they discover the mysteries of Egypt.

Behind the Books
Klaire Mason is an avid traveler who has explored 36 countries. Traveling since the age of two, she finds inspiration in small glimmers she has experienced throughout the world. Klaire's muse, Sophie the Duck, was conceptualized in the back of a car while playing with a rubber band. Now the main character in the books, Sophie, will make learning about a country fascinating and exciting for middle grade. Besides writing the story line, Klaire also illustrates and has a new line of Sophie dolls with matching outfits. Some of her stories include: Sophie’s Revolution, The Mystery of the Ancient Hieroglyphs and soon to be released Sophie and the Inherited Expedition.
